The shootings claimed the lives of nine people, including four police officers, two officials, and three locals. Some officers were also injured.
After being notified of the shootings, which rarely occur in Vietnam, the ministry quickly asked the police in Dak Lak Province and competent forces to hunt for these attackers.
As of 9:00 am on Tuesday, 39 gang members had been taken into police custody, including two turning themselves in, Lieutenant General To An Xo, spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Tuesday morning.
Apart from the ongoing search for more suspects, the ministry also called on locals in Cu Kuin District and neighboring localities to stay calm and follow the instructions of the authorities.
