-- Landslides triggered by heavy rains and whirlwinds killed six people and left another missing in central and southern Vietnamese localities on Saturday and Sunday, according to a report by the national steering committee for natural disaster prevention and control.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has required the Saigon Central Post Office, a famed tourist site in the inner-city area, to reclaim souvenirs featuring Vietnam’s map without Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos as many of such products were put on sale at the post office.

-- A heavy rain submerged many streets in Hanoi on Monday afternoon, causing difficulties in travel.

-- Cambodia has arrested 11 Vietnamese suspects allegedly involving in the fatal shooting of a Vietnamese man in Phnom Penh on Saturday.

-- The World Bank Board of Directors on Monday approved a project worth US$129.6 million to strengthen flood resilience and improve sanitation, transport, and public space infrastructure in Vinh City, Nghe An Province, north-central Vietnam. The project is expected to directly benefit 250,000 residents in Vinh by reducing flood risks and improving public health, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- Long Thanh International Airport, when in place in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam, will need some 13,800 laborers, including 5,000 university graduates, the Dong Nai Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs cited the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam as saying.

-- Bamboo Airways has operated its first direct flight connecting Hanoi and Lijiang City in China’s Yunnan Province, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

-- The Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau will organize a shrimp festival and a forum to promote One Commune One Product (OCOP) products in the Mekong Delta from December 13 to 16, attracting some 100,000 attendees, the Ca Mau People’s Committee informed on Monday.

-- Hong Kong has lifted a ban on eggs and egg-based products from the southern Vietnamese provinces of Tay Ninh, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, and Dong Nai after having imposed the ban for over four years, an official from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Monday.
