Authorities in Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City launched a beautification initiative along Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard, involving cleaning up the areas on either side of the route and planting lotus flowers in the median strip to establish a picturesque landscape for people to visit and take photos of.
Communes will take charge of the job along boulevard sections in the precincts, secretary of the Binh Chanh Party Committee Tran Van Nam said at a recent conference on environmental protection in the district.
The median strip of the boulevard is now full of stagnant water and weeds.
Only the median strip of a section passing through An Phu Tay Commune has been covered with lotus.
Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard is 17.8 kilometers, running from District 7 to a National Highway 1 section in Binh Chanh District and a road leading to the Ho Chi Minh City – Trung Luong Expressway.
The boulevard is considered one of the roads with the best landscapes in Ho Chi Minh City.
