Several roads in Hanoi’s Tay Ho District will be temporarily closed this weekend to ensure smooth organization of an extraordinary drone and symphony light show featuring 2,025 drones at West Lake to ring in the 2025 new year.
The administration of Tay Ho has announced temporary road closures and traffic diversions in the vicinity of the event venue.
During the rehearsal on Friday, traffic restrictions will be in place along four streets -- Lac Long Quan, Nguyen Hoang Ton, Ve Ho, Nhat Chieu -- from 6:00 pm to midnight.
On Lac Long Quan Street, cars will be banned from the Lac Long Quan-Xuan La to Lac Long Quan-Au Co T-intersections, while motorcycles will be restricted between Alley 655 and Alley 683.
Authorities will impose a full closure on Nhat Chieu Street and the section from the Vo Chi Cong-Nguyen Hoang Ton Intersection to Lac Long Quan Park.
Cars will be prohibited from entering Ve Ho Street, while motorcycles will be restricted from the beginning of the street to Alley 378 Lac Long Quan.
During the main event, which is set to kick off at 8:00 pm on Saturday, similar restrictions will apply from 5:00 pm to midnight.
The symphony and drone light show, co-organized by Nhan Dan (People) newspaper, Hanoi's municipal government, and Tay Ho District authorities, marks the opening of the 2025 Hanoi International Light Festival, which is set to become an annual highlight.
The show blends modern light technology with traditional symphonic music, creating a visual and emotional journey.
The centerpiece will be a drone light performance over West Lake, telling stories of Hanoi’s thousand-year history and cultural heritage.
The display will feature iconic Hanoi landmarks reimagined through cutting-edge visuals.
Le Quoc Minh, editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan, emphasized the event as not just a celebration of music and light but also a message of unity and hope for the new year.
