Police in Quang Ngai Province in central Vietnam on Friday morning brought two men into custody for beating and shooting two female sanitation employees in Quang Ngai City a day earlier, according to a local official.
Nguyen Duc Nga, 23, a resident of Phu Ninh District in neighboring Quang Nam Province, and Tran Viet Dong, 24, a resident of Tien Phuoc District, also in Quang Nam Province, had been living in a rented room in Tu Nghia District, Quang Ngai before fleeing to Ba To District, where they were detained.
The victims – Vo Thi Luu, 42, and Le Thi Minh Khai, 35 – are both employees of Quang Ngai Urban Environment JSC.

The incident occurred just before midnight on Thursday while Luu and Khai were collecting trash on Pham Van Dong Street in Nghia Chanh Ward, Quang Ngai City.
As the two men approached them on motorbike, the two women asked the men to drive safely. The men responded by swearing at the workers before driving off.
About an hour later, both men returned to Pham Van Dong Street to find the two workers. They then disembarked from their motorbike and began beating Khai.
Luu tried to stop them but one of the men opened fire and shot Luu in the thigh and Khai in the leg.
Luu and Khai were rushed to nearby Phuc Hung Hospital for emergency treatment. Their health is now stable.
The Secretary of the Quang Ngai Party Committee asked that provincial police to mobilize police officers at all levels to capture the two men.
