About 500 people managed to escape a fire that broke out in a wedding hall in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, southern Vietnam on Sunday.
Local residents said that the blaze erupted on the stage in the wedding hall at noon on Sunday.
The flames spread across the hall within 30 seconds, according to a witness.
At the time, there were around 500 people in the venue, including the bride, groom, their relatives, and guests.
They immediately left the hall through its exits.
Staff and equipment on the spot were mobilized to put out the blaze.
Four fire trucks and firefighters later rushed to the scene and extinguished the flames at around 1:00 pm.
Locals attributed the incident to an electrical short circuit on the stage where extruded polystyrene pieces were placed, thus causing the fire to spread quickly.
However, the hall has more than 10 exits, so people could escape quickly. Only one person was slightly burned.
