Truck driver praised for blocking water flow to help motorcyclists on Vietnam highway

A container truck driver has been receiving compliments for his thoughtful action in positioning his vehicle to block the jet of water from a burst pipe, creating a safe path for motorcyclists on National Highway 1 in Quang Ngai Province, central Vietnam.
The moment, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon, has gained widespread attention on social media, with many praising the driver’s kindness and thoughtfulness.
Nguyen Anh Don, a resident of the province, who captured the moment on video, shared that a water pipe running along the highway in Son Tinh District burst at around 5:40 pm on Wednesday, releasing high-pressure water straight onto the road, blocking one lane.
As the water gushed, several motorcycles came to a halt, unable to pass through the flooded section of the highway.
The situation became even more chaotic as workers from nearby Tinh Phong Industrial Park were leaving work, causing a long line of motorcycles.

“A container truck arrived on the scene and stopped in front of the water jet,” Don recounted.
The driver positioned the truck across the flow, creating a barrier to allow motorcyclists to safely pass through, he said, praising the driver for his considerate action.
Moved by the driver’s action, Don captured and posted a video to his Facebook account, which quickly gained attention.
The video was shared widely, with many people commenting positively, expressing their gratitude and admiration for the driver’s kindness.
Though many social media users have tried to find out more about the truck driver’s identity, as of now, no further information has been made available.
In online groups, users continue to celebrate the driver’s act of kindness and hope to see more such gestures in everyday life.

The broken water pipe, which caused the disruption, is managed by Quang Ngai Water Supply Sewerage and Construction Joint Stock Company.
A representative from the company explained that the rupture occurred due to the burning of garbage by local residents, which caused damage to the pipe.
“After receiving the report of the incident, the company immediately dispatched a team to address the situation temporarily,” said the representative.
