Residents have complained about household waste accumulating along a section of Song Hanh Street connecting An Phu and Thao Dien metro stations in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

T.M., a resident of Thu Duc City, reported that a garbage dump has been growing near the bus stop beneath the pedestrian bridge at An Phu metro station for quite a while.

On hot days, the pile of waste becomes particularly smelly, tarnishing the entire neighborhood.

Household trash is also scattered among the lush vegetation of the Da Do canal, which runs alongside Song Hanh Street.

From the pedestrian bridges connecting An Phu and Thao Dien metro stations, the waste was clearly visible, with various items such as foam mattresses, broken glass bottles, and discarded seats strewn around the area.

Garbage bags had also spilled onto the road, creating an unsightly mess.

Not far from there, the bus stop in front of the motorbike parking lot at Thao Dien metro station on Vo Nguyen Giap Boulevard was also littered with plastic waste.

An Phu and Thao Dien metro stations are two of the 14 stations on metro line No. 1, which runs from Ben Thanh Station in District 1 to Suoi Tien Coach Station in Thu Duc City.

“The metro line is considered a symbol of the city’s modernization, but all this garbage scattered around is unpleasant to the eye,” said Luu Yen Vy, 23.
