A pedestrian bridge over the Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal, connecting Binh Thanh District with District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, is set to be operational soon.
Nearly 100 meters in length and two meters in width, the footbridge connects Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in District 1 with Truong Sa Street in Binh Thanh District and sits between Dien Bien Phu and Thi Nghe Bridges.

The pedestrian bridge, whose work is nearing completion, is under the Tao Dan-Tan Cang underground cable project invested in by National Power Transmission Corporation, a subsidiary of state-owned Vietnam Electricity.
Once this footbridge is put into service, local residents and tourists will find it more convenient to walk between Binh Thanh and District 1.
Traffic congestion in the area would be considerably eased.
“It’s awesome to know that the Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal area will have a footbridge, said Tran Minh Hung, a 43-year-old resident in District 1.
“The locals will have one more site for doing physical exercise or admiring the canal landscape from the bridge."
