Ho Chi Minh City’s water supplier Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco) has announced a water outage for this weekend in different districts in the south of the city and a number of wards in Thu Duc City for pipeline connection in District 7.

Water supply will be temporarily halted to facilitate the pipeline connections as part of the Nguyen Van Linh-Nguyen Huu Tho Intersection tunnel project in District 7.

The shutdown will take place from 10:00 pm on Saturday to 4:00 am on Sunday.

Affected areas will include the entire District 7 except Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, the entire Nha Be District and Can Gio District, Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9 in District 8, as well as An Phu, An Khanh, Thu Thiem, An Loi Dong, Phuoc Binh, Phuoc Long A, Phuoc Long B, and Tang Nhon Phu B Wards, and Hi-tech Industrial Park in Thu Duc City.

Areas with weakened water supply include Phong Phu Commune in Binh Chanh District and Ward 7 of District 8.

Following the six-hour disruption, hydraulic disturbances may occur, resulting in cloudy and weakened water.
