A delegation of doctors and nurses from the police department in An Giang Province, southern Vietnam took a trip to Kandal Province in Cambodia to provide its disadvantaged residents with medical examinations and drugs free of charge.
As many as 600 people, who reside in Sam Peou Poun Ward under Sam Peou Poun City, and Preaek Dach Commune in Leuk Daekin District, benefited from the healthcare support program on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The activity was co-organized by the An Giang Department of Public Security and Kandal authorities.
Aside from medical check-ups, the Vietnamese doctors also provided treatment for many patients afflicted with conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, gastritis, heart diseases, respiratory illnesses, and skin disorders.

Furthermore, the delegation led by Senior Colonel Nguyen The Hai, deputy director of the An Giang Department of Public Security, presented gift sets, including rice, instant noodles, soy sauce, and other necessities, to these patients.
Senior Colonel Hai said that the medical examination initiative was aimed at spreading kindness and improving the health of poor workers in the neighboring nation.
In addition, the program contributed to deepening the friendship between the two countries.
