A woman from Lam Dong Province in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam has been utilizing an exotic gas escaping from a drilling well at her house for cooking for a while.
The People’s Committee of An Nhon Commune in Da Teh District said on Sunday that local forces are analyzing and studying the sudden appearance of the ‘strange’ gas that is flammable at her house.
While waiting for the clarification of the gas at her well, Phung Thi Nghin, who resides in Hamlet 5 in An Nhon, is using it to cook.
The well has been burping gas for over one month.
The gas appeared after Nghin hired workers to drill the well to the depth of 30 meters.
She and her neighbors tried in vain to block the gas flow as it was very powerful.

The gas can easily ignite when it comes into contact with flames.
Bui Van Van, vice-chairman of the An Nhon Commune administration, said that the gas has weakened.
Local authorities thought that the gas was methane.
Nghin stated that her home was built on a vacant lot, and no pig farms have been established there, raising questions about the source of the gas.
For the safety of residents, the People’s Committee of Da Teh District has advised them not to go near the well area from which the gas is leaking.
