The Aviation Security Center at Da Nang International Airport in the namesake central city said on Saturday that they had returned a bag containing over VND300 million (US$11,843) in cash to a passenger who left the bag at the airport as he was absorbed in a conversation a day earlier.

At about 6:30 on Friday, Nguyen Dang Luyen, an employee of taxi firm Mai Linh at Da Nang International Airport, reported to the Aviation Security Center that a leather bag was left on a luggage trolley at an area where taxis pick up passengers at the T1 passenger terminal.

Officials of the Aviation Security Center checked the bag and sought its owner.

They saw 636 Vietnamese banknotes with a face value of VND500,000 ($19.7) and some papers showing the name of L.D.T. inside the bag.

Some ten minutes later, the passenger named L.D.T., a resident in Yen My District, Hung Yen Province, northern Vietnam, reported that he lost a bag.

Ater receiving the bag back, he said was happy and had a good impression about Da Nang residents.
