The Da Nang Information Technology Park in central Vietnam, once envisioned as a Silicon Valley-inspired hub, now lies abandoned, with degraded facilities and overgrown fields serving as pasture for roaming cows.
Da Nang Information Technology Park Development JSC, the project's developer, had aimed to create one of Asia's leading IT development communities.
The original plan for the park envisioned it spanning 341 hectares at a cost of over VND2.7 trillion (US$107.7 million).
While the first phase, covering 131 hectares, has been completed and is ready for investors, the timeline for the second phase, designed to occupy 210 hectares and originally scheduled for construction between 2020 and 2025, remains uncertain.

The IT park now sits deserted.
Villas which were built to accommodate experts are incomplete and stalled.
The second phase of the project is facing hindrances and Da Nang has no jurisdiction to resolve them.
