-- The UK government has announced £1 million (US$1.3 million) of humanitarian assistance to Vietnam to support the initial phase of the response to the impact of Typhoon Yagi. The vital assistance will be allocated to humanitarian partners and will reach individuals directly through providing emergency supplies, cash assistance and critical services, such as health, water and sanitation.

-- Up to eight storms and tropical depressions might form in the East Vietnam Sea for the rest of the year, with three or four of them forecast to directly affect Vietnam, according to the national weather center.

-- Police in Ho Chi Minh City questioned two men who provided self-balancing scooter renting services on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in downtown Ho Chi Minh City for allegedly overcharging streamer IshowSpeed, an official told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Saturday night.

-- Ho Chi Minh City plans to equip public charging stations at its major bus stations in the coming time in preparation for its shift to e-buses, according to the municipal Department of Transport.

-- Agencies, organizations and individuals nationwide had donated over VND1 trillion ($40.8 million) to support residents affected by the devastating typhoon Yagi and the ongoing floods in northern Vietnam as of 5:00 pm on Saturday, in response to the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front’s call.

-- More than 4,000 locations along numerous roads and highways in northern Vietnam had been damaged by landslides and floods triggered by typhoon Yagi as of Saturday afternoon, causing a huge loss of over VND2 trillion ($81.6 million).

-- Moderate to heavy rains, coupled with thunderstorms, are forecast to lash the southern and Central Highlands regions on Sunday and Monday next week, according to the national weather center.

-- The Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information under the Ministry of Information and Communications has required two foreign companies, including Singapore’s RTB and France’s Dailymotion, to comply with Vietnamese regulations on cross-border advertising activities.

-- Over 100 coaches from 17 countries will attend the ITF Asian Regional Coaches Conference 2024 in Da Nang City from September 27 to 29.
