The traffic safety committee of Bien Hoa City in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam announced on Tuesday that local traffic police had imposed administrative fines on over 300 parents for allowing their underage children to ride motorcycles on the road.

The fines came after local traffic police launched a campaign to check the compliance with road traffic safety regulations among students citywide and fined more than 400 violators last month.

The most common violations included not wearing helmets, driving without a license, wrong-way driving, and exceeding passenger limits.

The law enforcement forces also received and verified reports of traffic violations through images and video clips provided by residents, which led to more fines levied on other violators.

The traffic safety committee emphasized that the campaign will continue, with a focus on patrolling major urban roads, school zones, and areas where teenagers often gather and are likely to violate traffic rules.

The goal is to raise awareness and encourage adherence to traffic safety regulations among both parents and their children.
