The 2024 Green Vietnam Festival kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday as part of the Green Vietnam project execured by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper in collaboration with Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO VN) and other partners.
Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the Youth Culture House at 4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street in District 1, the festival features eco-friendly products, models, and solutions from diverse industries, promoting the principles of a circular economy.
It gathers over 60 businesses from various sectors who turn up to showcase their green products and innovations.

Harold de Walque from Belgium was among the visitors to the festival on Saturday morning.
The man, who has lived in Vietnam for seven years, told Tuoi Tre News that he learned about the Green Vietnam Festival from a LinkedIn post by EBOOST, a provider of smart electric vehicle charging solutions in the Southeast Asian country.
Walque decided to come with his children, saying the event provided an opportunity for both him and the two kids of six and seven to be educated about environmental-friendly actions.
Walque and his children spent time exploring various booths at the event and were particularly impressed by one from EBOOST in partnership with Cho Tot Xe (Good Marketplace Vehicle) from the popular recommerce platform Cho Tot.
“That's the e-charging for motorbikes and cars that is mainly in buildings. So, whenever you are smart enough to buy an electric vehicle, you can charge it from your basement and it's extremely convenient,” he commented after visiting the boost.
Another booth that caught their attention at the 2024 Green Vietnam Festival was run by Plastic People, a company that claims to “transform plastic waste into useful, affordable, and valuable products.”
“It's amazing, the beauty of products they can make by recycling plastic,” Walque said. “It's not far from us. It's made in Vietnam and they're beautiful products.”
According to him, the Green Vietnam Festival is not only an exhibition but it is also a learning experience with numerous panels and boards that explain how recycling is being done in Vietnam.

“I think the best thing here is Green Vietnam does an amazing job to sensibilize all the visitors to the benefits and easiness of recycling," he said.
“I think what my children have learned, because we've visited many booths about recycling, is that it's very important to carefully take care of the waste, separate it, and reuse it.
“I think the best, even before recycling, is reusing.”

According to Le The Chu, chief editor of Tuoi Tre, joining hands to protect the environment and build a green, clean, and beautiful Vietnam is no longer a distant goal but an urgent necessity.
Recognizing this responsibility, Tuoi Tre, along with PRO VN, the Vietnam Youth Federation in Ho Chi Minh City, and various socially responsible companies and organizations, launched the Green Vietnam project in April 2024.

The project is meant to raise awareness about environmental issues, helping people understand the state of the environment and the importance of protection efforts.
It seeks to inspire action, encouraging individuals to adopt habits and practices that reduce environmental impact, while connecting environmental advocates to create a strong, united network.
In promoting sustainable production and development, the project provides guidance for businesses on achieving high economic efficiency through green production models.
Ultimately, it aims to build a sustainable future for Vietnam.
