Authorities in Thu Duc City, a district-level unit under Ho Chi Minh City, said on Friday that they were identifying and summoning people related to a case in which a man clung to the front end of a moving truck in the city.
A video of the case, which has surfaced on social media since Friday, showed the man standing on the truck bumper and his hands holding the front windshield and a front door of the truck traveling on Man Thien Street in Tang Nhon Phu A Ward, Thu Duc City.
At 8:30 am on Friday, the man named N.H.T., a 32-year-old resident in Thu Duc City, was driving a three-wheeled vehicle on Hoang Huu Nam Street when his vehicle collided with the truck at the intersection of Hoang Huu Nam and Le Van Viet Streets.
T. and the truck driver were later involved in a conflict. The truck driver wanted to leave, while T. wanted to wait for the police to come to solve the problem.
As the truck driver insisted on driving the truck away, T. jumped onto the truck bumper and clung to the front end of the vehicle.
However, the truck driver ignored T. and kept driving.
Many witnessed filmed videos of the case and asked the truck driver to stop. However, the truck driver still drove the vehicle ahead before turning to Man Thien Street and then a parking lot in Tang Nhon Phu A Ward.
Before the truck reached the parking lot, T. jumped down the road and sustained scratches.
Police in Tang Nhon Phu A Ward later reached the scene to clarify the case.
