Cars with over 29 seats are banned from operating around iconic Xuan Huong Lake until the end of this month to accommodate the 10th Dalat Flower Festival in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
According to a traffic plan released by the provincial administration on Monday, vehicles with over 29 seats are prohibited from Tran Quoc Toan Street, which encircles the lake, except for the section from the Yersin-Tran Quoc Toan intersection to the Tran Nhan Tong-Tran Quoc Toan intersection.
The ban applies daily from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm and will be lifted at the end of December 31.
Electric taxis and contract cars with fewer than nine seats are allowed to pick up and drop off passengers at designated free public parking areas along Tran Quoc Toan Street.
In addition, two local firms, Dalat City Tour Co., Ltd. and Tinh An Tourism Development Co., Ltd., have been permitted to operate a combined fleet of 30 electric vehicles for tourist transport around the lake, with designated stops for passenger pickups and drop-offs.
Authorities also prohibit trucks weighing over 20 metric tons from traveling on Bao Loc Pass on the National Highway 20 section running through Da Huoai District and Bao Loc City in the province on December 4-5, the festival’s opening days.
The restriction applies from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm on December 4 and from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on December 5.
Relevant agencies have been asked to erect road signs and organize traffic flow on Bao Loc Pass before December 3.
The 10th Dalat Flower Festival is set to take place from December 5 to 31, with the aim of promoting local culture and tourism to visitors at home and abroad.
