The projected path of Pabuk, the 10th storm to hit the East Vietnam Sea this year, has shifted toward the waters from Khanh Hoa Province to Binh Thuan Province in south-central Vietnam and could lose its strength, said the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
As of 7:00 am on Wednesday, the storm had approached the waters between Khanh Hoa and Binh Thuan, packing maximum sustained winds of 74kph near its center and traveling west-southwest at 10-15kph.
Over the next 12 hours, the storm is anticipated to weaken into a tropical depression and reach the waters from south-central Ninh Thuan Province to southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

The national weather agency warned of dangerous conditions in the southwest-central East Vietnam Sea and the waters between Khanh Hoa and Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where waves may reach 2-5m, blowing strong winds near the storm center.
Vessels operating in these areas may be at risk from thunderstorms, whirlwinds, and extreme waves.
