The Hanoi Department of Tourism has issued a document requesting travel service businesses, including those offering tours and passenger transport services, not to organize tours to the ‘train street’ where coffee shops are just inches from the active railway in order to ensure safety for tourists and maintain traffic order.
Travel service providers need to raise awareness among employees about the potential traffic accident risks when tourists visit the trackside café street.
Currently, these coffee shops are located along the railway line in Cua Nam, Hang Bong, and Cua Dong Wards.
Travel companies are required to actively coordinate closely with relevant authorities to timely detect, prevent, and handle violations in accordance with regulations.
The trackside café street is a popular destination for international tourists visiting Hanoi, but visiting and posing for photos on the street pose significant risks.
Authorities have repeatedly requested actions to address businesses operating along the trackside café street, particularly Tran Phu and Phung Hung Streets.
Despite having barriers, warning signs, and restrictions on filming and photography, with personnel monitoring the area, many tourists still manage to access the location.
Banning tours to this area is a measure aimed at protecting the safety of tourists while also demonstrating the authorities’ determination to restore order and safety in the railway corridor.
