Traffic police officers from the Traffic Police Department announced that they had issued an administrative violation record against a group of Porsche drivers from Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring Dong Nai Province who were recklessly overtaking other vehicles and not following the designated lanes on a Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway section in northern Yen Bai Province on March 19.
Each of them was fined VND5 million (US$195.4) and had two points deducted from their driver's licenses.
The drivers include P.C.C., N.N.S. and L.H.T. from Ho Chi Minh City, and N.V.L. from Dong Nai.
Earlier, a video circulated on social media showing the luxury cars veering into the wrong lane on a two-lane section of the Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway.
The video, recorded by the dashcam of a car traveling in the same direction, showed the Porsche convoy veering into the opposite lane to overtake other vehicles.
Notably, when encountering a car traveling in the opposite direction, one of the Porsches quickly swerved back into the correct lane, causing another car traveling properly to swerve into the emergency lane to avoid a collision.

The section of the expressway in question only has two lanes for both directions, with no central divider.
The Hanoi-Lao Cai Expressway stretches over 260 kilometers, passing through Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Yen Bai, and Lao Cai.
The section through Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, and Yen Bai is designed with four lanes and a maximum speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile, the Yen Bai-Lao Cai section, which is more than 83 kilometers long, has only two lanes and the road surface is in poor condition. This section has been in use for over 10 years without any expansion.
