-- Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended the opening ceremony for the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, themed 'Parliamentary Action for Social Development and Justice,' in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Saturday evening (local time).

-- Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will pay an official visit to Vietnam from April 8 to 10 at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

-- The Standing Committee of the National Assembly has issued an official notice convening the ninth session of the 15th National Assembly, which is set to open on May 5, to consider and decide on proposed amendments to several articles of the 2013 Constitution and provincial-level administrative unit mergers.

-- Police in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam reported on Saturday that they had initiated legal proceedings and arrested a 44-year-old woman for allegedly killing her son in 2023 to profit from insurance.

-- A passenger bus with 43 people on board collided with a motorcycle and overturned on a National Highway 1 section passing through Quang Tri Province in north-central Vietnam on Saturday evening, injuring at least three people, the provincial traffic police unit confirmed the same day.

Business

-- Most European businesses in Vietnam remain confident in Vietnam’s diplomatic ability to navigate global trade tensions, said Bruno Jaspaert, chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), in EuroCham’s latest survey.

-- A private jet arranged by Vietnamese lender HDBank, with nearly 200 Vietnamese entrepreneurs on board, arrived in the U.S. on Friday evening (Vietnam time), marking the beginning of a series of business networking activities.

-- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Friday announced its preliminary decision in an anti-dumping investigation against coated steel imports from several countries, including Vietnam, with Vietnamese products facing preliminary anti-dumping duties ranging from 40 to 88.12 percent.
