V.League 1 side Hanoi FC on Thursday announced a one-year contract with Tim Hall, a Luxembourg international, as part of their efforts to strengthen the team’s defense.

Born in 1997, Hall is 1.90 meters tall.

He will play as a centre-back at Hanoi FC in Vietnam’s top-tier V.League 1.

In his international career, Hall is listed as a national player for Luxembourg in some matches during the ongoing Euro 2024 qualifiers, which will conclude on March 26.

In his club career, Hall had navigated through the football landscapes of Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Ukraine, and Cyprus.

Before joining Hanoi FC for the 2023-24 season, he featured in 16 matches and played 1,085 minutes for Ujpest FC in Nemzeti Bajnokság, the top flight of Hungarian football league system.

Hanoi FC is Hall’s first experience in Asia.

While excited about potential achievements, he acknowledges the challenges ahead, emphasizing the need for concerted effort to contribute effectively alongside his teammates, whom he regards as formidable.

His recruitment is anticipated to bolster Hanoi FC coach Daiki Iwamasa’s defensive strategy, addressing vulnerabilities in the team’s defense.

The club ranks third in the number of conceded goals this season after the 12 V.League 1 rounds, with 17 goals.

They trail behind The Cong - Viettel, who have conceded 18 goals, and Hai Phong Club, with 20 goals against them.

Currently, placed seventh out of 14 teams in the league with 16 points, Hanoi FC maintains a six-point gap from both the top and bottom three teams in the standings.
