A tsunami warning has been cancelled in Tonga after a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the Pacific Island kingdom in the early hours of Sunday.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said based on data the threat of a tsunami had now passed.
A spokesperson for Tonga's National Disaster Risk Management Office told Reuters that there had not yet been reports of damage from the outer islands or the main island of Tongatapu.
The earthquake hit at a depth of 29km (18 miles) and was around 73km (45 miles) south east of the village of Pangai on the island of Lifuka, according to the USGS.
