Nearly 300 children from orphanages and underprivileged families in Ho Chi Minh City have had the opportunity to train in professional football for three days with coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation (RMF).

The YKK ASAO Kids Football Clinic, a regional Corporate Social Responsibility program by YKK Holding Asia Pte. Ltd, in cooperation with RMF, is hosting the training course at Mansion Sports Club in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, from Friday to Sunday.

On the first day, three RMF coaches taught over 30 local coaches the world-class coaching methods and techniques used by Real Madrid.

Over the following two days, RMF and Vietnamese coaches will lead the training sessions for around 300 children from orphanages and disadvantaged families, offering them a unique and valuable experience.

The YKK ASAO training course also provides an opportunity for children to learn important life values, such as teamwork, perseverance, and the will to succeed.

These soft skills are designed to help the children develop holistically, benefiting not only their sporting abilities but also their everyday lives.

At the conclusion of the training, YKK will donate all the footballs and training equipment to children’s villages, shelters, and schools, encouraging them to continue their passion for football and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Over the years, the event has impacted thousands of disadvantaged children, giving them a rare opportunity to train with RMF’s renowned football coaches.

At a press conference on Friday, Kosuke Miimi, president of YKK Holding Asia Pte. Ltd., stated that this is an important program, not only for the benefit of the children but also for the community.

The event creates opportunities for children with limited access to sports and brings the community together through the love of football.

The YKK ASAO Kids Football Clinic, which began in 2007, aims to promote the comprehensive development of children through sports, specifically targeting disadvantaged children aged 8 to 17.

This meaningful program has been held in various countries, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

This is the fourth time the program has been held in Vietnam and the third time in Ho Chi Minh City, following a previous session in Hanoi in 2019.
