As the year draws to a close, the terraced rice fields of Mu Cang Chai Town in Yen Bai Province have taken on a yellow hue as the paddy colors change, luring tourists to the region who hope to catch the distinctive cultural traditions local ethnic minorities use to mark the season.

At the end of September, automobiles and motorbikes line the roads from Nghia Lo to Khau Pha Pass to Mu Cang Chai en route to the magnificent beauty of the yellowing rice paddies of northwestern Vietnam.

The golden sunlight of the autumn sky, coupled with the endless paddies, blankets the region in a magical yellow blanket.

From the district center of Mu Cang Chai, groups of motorbike taxis shuttle tourists to famous landmarks, such as Mam Xoi Hill, Khau Pha Pass, Mong Ngua Hill, and the terraced fields.

The paragliding festival on Khau Pha Pass attracts a large number of people and tourists. This year, it will take place until the end of October.

In addition to paragliding, Mu Cang Chai District also offers helicopter tours for travelers hoping to admire the terraced rice fields during the harvest season.
