Two night markets have been opened in Nha Trang City, the capital of Khanh Hoa Province in south-central Vietnam, wooing throngs of visitors.
The provincial administration on Tuesday night put into operation the two night markets at Children’s Park and Yen Phi Park in Xuan Huan Ward.
The night markets will operate until Thursday next week.
The markets house dozens of stalls to sell the province’s distinctive products and foods.
Despite downpours on Tuesday night, many tourists and locals were eager to visit the night markets.
Thu Tra, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said that the night markets were attractive.
She bought some souvenirs and the province’s specialties.
“The scale of the night markets remains modest. I hope the markets will become larger and sell more products to satisfy tourists and give them more options,” she said.
Many household businesses expressed their pleasure as the province has opened the night markets to offer them a vending space and diversify tourism products and services.

The province is planning to open one more night market in front of Dam Wet Market in the city.
The opening of these night markets is aimed at introducing the locality’s commodities and delicacies to tourists, unlocking the potential of the night economy, spurring business and production activities, and raising residents’ incomes, according to the Khanh Hoa Province People’s Committee.
The provincial administration previously passed a plan for nighttime economic development until 2030.
The province is set to focus on culture-entertainment, cuisine, shopping, and tourism to advance its nighttime economy.
During the initial stage, Khanh Hoa will treat travelers to entertainment services, pedestrian and food streets, and seaside pubs.
Before the opening of the two above-mentioned night markets, Nha Trang, a famous beach city, put into service a night market near April 2 Square.
The night market is open until 11:00 pm daily.
