She Creates Change, an animated and live-action film series, created by Room to Read, will be premiered by Warner Bros. Discovery in many countries from Friday, featuring the narratives of six courageous young women, including a Vietnamese girl.

The television premiere of the series is aimed at celebrating International Women’s Day (March 8).

The series is a nonprofit-led animation and live-action film project to promote gender equality through the stories of young women around the world.

Each episode portrays how young women overcome challenges like harassment, food scarcity, and early marriage, along with the life skills they use to advocate for themselves and their futures.

Alongside girls in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania, Nguyen Thuy Trang, the Vietnamese owner of YouTube channel Sau Tivi, appears in She Creates Change with her duck, called Bim Bim.

Trang was born to a disadvantaged farming couple in Tra On District, Vinh Long Province, southwestern Vietnam.

She used her elder brother's smartphone to create humorous and emotional videos featuring herself, her pet Bim Bim, and snapshots from her daily life.

These videos quickly went viral on YouTube, thus making her famous.

Her YouTube channel gained 500,000 followers when she was 20.

Six shorts in the She Creates Change series will be aired at 8:00 pm (Vietnam time) on the Discovery Asia channel in Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, China, Taiwan, and Mongolia on March 8, 15, and 22.

The films will be introduced to audiences in Bangladesh, India, the Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka on the TLC and Discovery+ India channels during the period.

She Creates Change was backed by a women-led creative team, including Nexus Studio, an animation, film, and interactive studio in London, and Emmy-winning director Martha Adams.

Founded in 2000, Room to Read, a global nonprofit headquartered in San Francisco, California, focuses on working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations, and governments to improve literacy as well as gender equality in education.

Room to Read has supported over 39 million children in 23 nations worldwide.

In Vietnam, Room to Read has formed a close partnership with the Ministry of Education and Training to launch diverse programs aimed at enhancing language skills, fostering a reading culture among students, and advancing education for schoolgirls.

This global organization has established its presence in 46 provinces and cities across the nation, positively impacting the lives of over two million Vietnamese children.
