Nguyen Anh Nguyet, a 42-year-old woman from a poor area in Quang Tri Province, north-central Vietnam, and her 62-year-old Australian husband Andrew Macpherson received a pair of suckling pigs gifted by the groom’s friend, Peter O'Neil, former prime minister of Papua New Guinea, an Oceanian country, at their wedding in Da Nang City, central Vietnam.
The pigs wiggled in a bamboo basket and screamed loudly, making guests at the wedding party laugh.
After the wedding party on a beach in the city, the couple departed to Australia for their honeymoon.
She used to work as a receptionist at Furama Resort Da Nang, which is also the venue of her wedding party.

Nguyet recalled that she came to Australia for study in 2011. She worked as an employee seeking property buyers to earn her living.
Her target customers were the elite, politicians, and celebrities.
While looking for customers, she chanced on Macpherson.
She narrated that both she and her husband were advanced in years and understood hardships in life, so they decided to begin a serious relationship several months after getting acquainted with each other.
Nguyet later introduced Macpherson to her family. At the time, she did not know Macpherson was a well-known racer and a millionaire.
“I was shocked when he showed me his photos, his company name, and his personal information. I could not believe that my husband’s photos are plentiful on the Internet," she said.
“He joined world-renowned racing tournaments. He also owns a meat and seafood export company and a firm owning the Australian racing tournament GT world challenge Asia GT3.”

Macpherson told Nguyet that he loves Vietnam and Vietnamese people’s gentleness, so he wanted to hold their wedding in Vietnam instead of Australia.
In late April, their wedding took place on the beach in Da Nang with some 100 guests.
Nguyet said she met her husband by fate. As she could enjoy her life’s happiest moment in her homeland Vietnam, she felt everything was perfect.
Over the past few years, world-renowned billionaires and celebrities have chosen Da Nang as the venue for their weddings.
