Party leader welcomes Indonesian FM

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received visiting Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa in Hanoi on July 26.

Trong spoke highly of the achievements Indonesia has made over the past time with a high and stable economic growth and an increasingly important role in both regional and international arenas.

He expressed his belief that Indonesia would harvest greater achievements in future.

Appreciating the results of the first meeting of the Vietnam-Indonesia Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, the Party leader said the two nations still have significant potential for increasing cooperative development.

He suggested the two Foreign Ministries actively seek measures to upgrade the countries’ multi-faceted cooperation to a new level.

For his part, Natalegawa said t he Indonesian Government attaches importance to the relationship with Vietnam as well as the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He said he believes that the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between the nations will further develop in the future.

He spoke highly of Vietnam ’s role in the regional and international arenas, affirming that Indonesia always supports Vietnam ’s effort to foster bilateral ties for the interests of the two countries, as well as for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

He briefed the host on the results of the first meeting of the Vietnam-Indonesia Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, saying that the two sides agreed on specific measures to boost bilateral cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment, agriculture, seafood, culture, education-training and tourism.
