The Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (Incham) will hold a seminar on the economic outlook for Vietnam in Sofitel Saigon Plaza Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City this Friday morning.
The event, titled “Vietnam 2013 and Beyond”, will present opinions and forecasts for the Vietnam economic outlook from the perspective of foreign businesses operating in Vietnam.
The seminar is expected to be joined by Indian officials in Vietnam, representatives of Incham’s member businesses and foreign business associations in HCMC, foreign and domestic economic experts, and keynote foreign and local guest speakers.
They include Sanjay Kalra - resident representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Vietnam, Abhay Thakur - Consul General of India in HCMC, Sumit Datta - chief executive of HSBC Bank Vietnam, and Nitin Jain - partner of Ernest & Young Vietnam Ltd.
HCMC state officials from the departments of industry-trade, planning-investment, and customs will also attend the seminar to address the audience and answer questions on doing business in the city and in Vietnam.
Topics to be discussed until 12:00 pm during the half-day event will include where Vietnam economy is heading in 2013 and beyond and perspectives for foreign businesses operating in Vietnam.
Ever since its foundation in 1999, Incham has acted as a catalyst to promote India –Vietnam trade and cultural exchange by working well with the governments of both countries to take up various activities on bolstering the ties in the two fields.
The seminar, a regular event on macroeconomic situation held annually by Incham in Vietnam’s southern economic hub, is one such activity to help businesspeople and investors to understand and promote business in the changing business environment in the country.
