Five more flower species widely grown in the Central Highlands city of Da Lat have been allowed to bear the protected Hoa Da Lat (Da Lat Flower) brand name, the local government has announced.
The flowers include rose, chrysanthemum, bluebell, clove pink, and sword lily, said Duong Ngoc Duc, head of the economic bureau under the Da Lat’s People’s Committee.
The Hoa Da Lat brand received the certificate by the Department of Intellectual Property under the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2012.
It has since become a common asset of Da Lat flower growers and locals, and is managed by the people’s committee.
Forty-two individuals and facilities that grow the above flowers will now be allowed to use the Hoa Da Lat brand on the packaging and in the promoting activities of their products within three years.
The growers are based in Da Lat city and neighboring districts like Lac Duong, Don Duong, and Duc Trong.
Duc said the said flower species are the most sold and exported flowers of the Central Highlands city.
