A Vietnamese company is seeking approval to build two seven-story basement parking garages beneath a hill in Da Lat, a beloved resort city in Vietnam's Central Highlands region.
This is part of a project to develop an entertainment-resort complex and a shopping center at Cu Hill that has been proposed to the People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province, which administers Da Lat, by Hoang Gia Da Lat Company, the investor of a golf course at the hill.
Once completed, the project along with infrastructure facilities of the golf course would form a tourism complex and help satisfy a huge demand for car parking, said the company.
The provincial administration said on Thursday that it basically endorsed the idea to develop the project.
However, the company was told to ensure the project development would not change the natural terrain and the landscape of the golf course, and not affect the landscape of the iconic Xuan Huong Lake as well as the surrounding areas.
The company should mainly make the most of the underground space, the provincial administration said.
The provincial Department of Construction was asked to work with relevant agencies to review the proposal and report it to the provincial People’s Committee for formal consideration before May 17 this year.
The company is also developing a golf club project spanning 15,670 square meters at the Cu Hill golf course.
