The People’s Committee of Bac Giang in northern Vietnam has given the green light to a project to develop a golf course and urban area complex at a total cost of over VND6.38 trillion (US$270 million).
Of the total capital, some VND4.6 trillion ($195 million) will be used for construction, equipment purchase, and management costs, while the rest will be spent on site clearance and compensation.
The project will cover 134 hectares of land on Nham Bien Mountain in Dong Son Commune under Bac Giang City and Tien Phong Commune in Yen Dung District.
The 18-hole golf course will span more than 88 hectares, while the urban area will be built on an area of 46 hectares, featuring 979 low-rise houses and many social houses to accommodate more than 2,700 people.
The complex will operate in 50 years, according to the Bac Giang administration.
The project is aimed at unlocking the potential of the mountain and forming a high-end entertainment playground.
Bac Giang Province targets to develop 13 golf courses between 2021 and 2030, with a vision toward 2050 to turn the province into a golf hub in the country, news site VnExpress reported.
