The Vietnamese organization ForGood Vietnam, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy and Consulate General in Vietnam, on Tuesday officially launched the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs 2023 (AWE 2023), which is designed to enhance women’s entrepreneurship through training, mentorship, community building, and support resources.
AWE 2023, a global program taking place in nearly 100 countries, is being hosted in Vietnam across three locations -- Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.
About 100 female entrepreneurs joined the AWE 2023 launch in an in-person event in Ho Chi Minh City and online from Hanoi and Can Tho on Tuesday.
The program, fully sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, offers female entrepreneurs the knowledge, networking opportunities, and support necessary for the development of thriving businesses.
The initiative has already empowered approximately 25,000 women worldwide to expand their enterprises and fully realize their economic potential.

They must be either business owners, actively managing a small business, in the early stages of launching a startup, or testing a prototype for a business concept.
Preference will be given to startups with a strong tech focus or those with a significant social impact.
Applicants are required to have a proficient level of English and basic computer skills and submit their applications by November 15.

The program combines localized in-class mentoring and training facilitation via the use of complimentary online platform DreamBuilder and 100 Million Learners, another digital platform developed collaboratively by Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and the Freeport McMoRan Foundation.
Through AWE, participants learn critical business skills such as strategic planning, marketing, and financial management, and apply these skills in the classroom and through experiential learning with mentors from the local business community.
AWE participants will have the opportunity to learn from and network with successful business leaders, entrepreneurs, and U.S. Exchange Alumni in the Vietnamese business community.
