The inauguration ceremony for the first phase of the Becamex Industrial Park, with an investment of VND7.5 trillion (US$304 million), was conducted on Monday morning by the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province in south-central Vietnam.

The industrial park started operations three years after its construction commenced.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the lawmaking National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue and Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.

The Becamex Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) Binh Dinh industrial – urban – service complex, located in Canh Vinh Commune under Van Canh District, covers an area of over 1,370 hectares.

The property is expected to advance industrial, urban, and service zones and spur socio-economic growth in the province.

Pham Anh Tuan, chairman of the provincial administration, said that Binh Dinh is constructing a road linking National Highway 19 and the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh complex.

He expected the industrial park to attract many firms and investors.

Binh Dinh Province is committed to creating favorable conditions for the completion of the project and for investors to do business there, Tuan said.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ha said that he hoped the industrial park would act as a hub for study, science and technology application, and innovation.
