Vietnamese multi-sector conglomerate Vingroup on Saturday last week signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) to foster tourism and cultural cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea.

As per the MoU, Vingroup and KTO will jointly promote and host large-scale tourism and cultural events at Vinhomes urban complexes nationwide to help spread Korean culture in Vietnam.

Both sides also pledged to launch tourism promotion campaigns in which KTO will introduce products and services from property developer Vinhomes, electric vehicle maker VinFast, hospitality-recreation developer and operator VinPearl, and shopping mall operator Vincom to the South Korean community in Vietnam as well as those living in South Korea.

Vingroup will team up with KTO to accelerate incentive tours by sending tourists under incentive travel programs to South Korea.

As part of the partnership, the Korea Travel Festa 2024 hosted by KTO took place last weekend at K-Town and VinWonders Wave Park in the Vinhomes Ocean Park 2 urban area in Hanoi, featuring K-pop and V-pop performances, as well as travel products and services dedicated to the South Korean community in Vietnam.

Lee Hak Ju, executive vice-president of KTO’s international tourism division, said that Vietnam and South Korea have reaped fruitful results in many fields including politics, economy, and people-to-people exchanges since both nations established bilateral diplomatic ties in 1992.

Last year, the number of visitors traveling between the two countries surpassed four million.

Following the MoU signing, Vingroup and KTO will jointly ramp up tourism cooperation and cultural exchanges in the years to come, Lee said.

Nguyen Viet Quang, vice-chairman and chief executive officer of Vingroup, said that the active support of KTO will enable Vingroup to launch a host of tourism and cultural events and services to better serve Vingroup customers, including the South Koreans.
