Da Nang, the capital city of central Vietnam, has put over 250 apartments up for lease from VND2.5 million (US$98.4) a unit a month, according to the municipal Department of Construction.
These units are classified as social housing apartments, part of the Bau Tram Lakeside green urban area in Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District.
A total of 257 apartments, each covering 45 - 70 square meters, are available for rent at the moment.
Each apartment features one to three bedrooms.
The rents for these apartments range from VND2.5 million to VND4.7 million ($184.5) each.
Over half of the units are renting for below VND3 million ($118) each.
This is a huge number of apartments up for rent after the city suspended leasing these accommodations for a long time.

Tran Van Hoang, deputy director of the municipal department, said that people who are registered permanent residents of the city are eligible to rent these social housing apartments.
Those who are not permanent residents can also lease one if they have been registered as temporary residents for at least one year and have paid social insurance for at least one year in the city.
To date, Da Nang City has completed the construction of over 16,700 houses, with more than 12,000 units funded by the state budget, accounting for approximately 80 percent of state-owned social housing nationwide.
The city manages nearly 10,000 social housing apartments, with 98 percent of them currently rented out.
Since 2019, Da Nang has prioritized renting state-owned social houses to revolutionary contributors, households affected by deteriorating state-run apartment buildings, and other people in need.
