Khanh Hoa Province in south-central Vietnam marked a festive start to 2025 by welcoming the Oceania Riviera, an international cruise ship registered under the Marshall Islands flag, on Tuesday as the year’s first international arrival.
The ship docked at Cam Ranh International Port with 1,200 passengers on board.
Addressing the welcoming ceremony, Dinh Van Thieu, vice-chairman of the provincial administration, emphasized the province's ambition to enhance its infrastructure and services to attract some of the world’s largest cruise liners.
This effort is part of the province’s broader strategy to boost its position as a leading destination for cruise tourism.
Upon their arrival, cruise passengers joined guided tours to explore the charm of Nha Trang, the provincial capital city, and nearby attractions, such as cyclo tours, river and countryside tours along the Cai River, and excursions to Nui Chua National Park in neighboring Ninh Thuan Province.

Some visitors also chose to explore Nha Trang independently for shopping and sightseeing before the ship was scheduled to leave for Chan May Port in the central city of Hue at 7:00 pm the same day.
In 2024, Khanh Hoa hosted 28 international cruise ships, welcoming 57,816 tourists.
For 2025, nine cruise ships carrying approximately 14,650 passengers have already registered to dock at Cam Ranh International Port by April.
