The US$200 million main campus of the Vietnamese-German University, a public university under the management of the Ministry of Education and Training, is now in operation in southern Binh Duong Province.
A representative of the Vietnamese-German University told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Monday that students will study at the main campus starting this 2022-23 academic year.
The school previously leased space for its operations.

Initiated in October 2016, the project covers an area of 50.5 hectares in Thoi Hoa Ward, Ben Cat Town, Binh Duong Province.
The investment capital is $200 million, mainly funded by a concessional loan from the World Bank.
The campus of the Vietnamese-German University includes lecture halls, buildings of faculties and departments, 21 laboratories with international standards, libraries, conference halls, operating houses, sports centers, and dormitories.

The facilities of the Vietnamese-German University will be able to train 6,000 students by 2030 in accordance with the standards of German and international universities.
The school currently has about 2,400 Vietnamese students and 70 foreign students.
As the university is a cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, the training program and quality are guaranteed according to strict German standards, said Dr. Ha Thuc Vien, vice-president of the university.

In more than 14 years of operation, over 1,500 turns of professors from German universities have taught at the Vietnamese-German University, Vien continued.
Students also have an up-to-40-percent chance to study at universities in Germany through scholarships in their final semesters.
