An FBI agent on Wednesday fatally shot a Florida man who allegedly had ties to one of the Boston bombings suspects, US media reported.
Ibragim Todashev, 27, was shot in the city of Orlando, Florida, according to the Orlando Sentinel newspaper.
Todashev became violent while being interviewed by the FBI, NBC News reported.
Todashev was reported to be a friend of deceased Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, whom he knew through their shared hobby of mixed martial-arts fighting.
The FBI -- which so far has neither released the name of the suspect who was shot nor confirmed a possible connection to the Boston bombing suspects -- has said it would release details about the incident later Wednesday.
Tsarnaev, 26, and his brother Dzhokhar, 19, were the alleged perpetrators of the Boston Marathon bombing last month that killed three people and wounded more than 260 near the finish line of the race.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev died in a shootout with police. His brother was captured after an exhaustive manhunt and is in custody.
