Local and foreign individuals and organizations working in architecture and zoning are all welcome to submit their works to the design competition on the Hoang Sa exhibit house, which is set to close on Dec 25.

According to Le Phu Nguyen, from Hoang Sa district’s People’s Committee, the exhibition house is where artifacts, photos, historical and legal materials which validate Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos will be displayed.

To be built on a 685m2 area in An Cu 5 residential area, Son Tra district in Da Nang city, the house is symbolic of the country’s century-long unyieldingness in safeguarding its ownership of the archipelago.

The house will also boast multimedia means, map systems and models indicating the district’s geographical and administrative features.

The winner will walk away with VND20 million (US$949) along with a trophy indicative of Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa. The second, third and consolation prize winners will receive VND10, 7 and 5 million respectively.

Submissions are to be handed in at Hoang Sa district’s People’s Committee, 132 Yen Bai, Hai Chau district, Da Nang city.

Detailed information is available at http://hoangsa.danang.gov.vn.

For centuries, Vietnam has established and exercised its sovereignty over Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos in a peaceful and continuous manner.
