The organizing committee for south-central Phu Yen Province’s 50th anniversary of liberation has announced an invitation for people from all over the country to attend the commemoration at 8:00 pm on April 1 at the Mot Thang Tu Square in Tuy Hoa City.
The event, themed "Heroic Phu Yen - Shining Future," aims to review the province's history and development.
With nearly 400 professional and amateur performers from Phu Yen, Hai Duong Province in northern Vietnam, and Chungbuk Province, South Korea, the program will recreate important historical milestones on an outdoor stage, expected to attract 10,000 spectators.
The program will feature the province's development aspirations, reenact the province’s heroic traditions, and portray the province's transformation over the past 50 years.
Historical images and literary works related to the revolution will be reenacted, combined with a 15-minute fireworks display to create an impressive highlight for the program.
The Phu Yen People's Committee will also organize a meeting with people who participated in the revolution before April 1, 1975. The provincial military command will host meetings with domestic veterans visiting former battlefields and historical monuments in the province, including the Vung Ro national historical site.
Phu Yen will organize other activities such as an exhibition on the province’s socio-economic achievements and introduce its products, cuisine, and tourism from March 30 to April 3 at the Mot Thang Tu Square.
During this occasion, the Phu Yen administration will also announce the prime minister's decision to recognize the Kala relief, a unique stone sculpture carved by the Champa people and discovered in Phu Yen Province, as a national treasure.
