Biggest French-Vietnamese food festival kicks off in town

Sunday, December 15, 2013, 15:00 GMT+7

French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV) on Saturday afternoon launched Le Bon Marché, the biggest French-styled gourmet event this year held to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, at 23/9 Park in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1.

The two-day event, hosted to highlight the economic and cultural ties between France and Vietnam, was held at two main sections at the park with free entry for all.

‘The market’ is the place for many stalls exhibiting and selling imported or locally produced French and Vietnamese high quality products, informative workshops, exhibitions and games for visitors.

Meanwhile, ‘The food area’ is set aside for restaurateurs from Saigon to sell French or Vietnamese freshly made dishes and drinks.

The highlight of the festival will be the two live concerts, co-organized each night with Dynamic Life and District Music 360, to promote French and Vietnamese music.

Vietnamese upcoming and famous artists, including Ho Ngoc Ha, Pham Anh Khoa, Phuong Vy, Trang Phap, Vmusic, and Suboi, will perform live and for free on Saturday and Sunday from 8 to 10pm.
