Doodle art competition on climatic change running

Friday, December 20, 2013, 15:09 GMT+7

Those interested in doodle art and concerned about global climatic changes are all welcome to join the competition “Rolling in the doodle with 350.org”, which will close by 12am on Dec 25.

The competition is an activity launched by the Vietnam Power Shift, which is part of the global Power Shift campaign. The campaign is organized by the US-based international environment organization 350.org, which gathers 135 countries and territories with the strategic purpose of promoting alternative energy and low-impact lifestyles to reduce climate change.

In their works, competitors are supposed to be creative with the number 350, which stands for 350 parts per million (ppm), what many scientists, climate experts, and progressive national governments consider the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere.

Contenders must submit their works at 350.orgdanang@gmail.com both in a black-and-white version and a final version which is fully colored in crayons or by computer tools.

The audiences’ award is picked from likes and shares, while that voted by the jury depends on the artistic content and the environmental message conveyed.

The award giving ceremony is set to take place in Da Nang on Dec 31. Winners will receive gifts which convey environmental meanings such as pots of plants, glass holders made from coconut fiber, shirts and books.
