Over 150 unpublished woodblocks of the Nguyen dynasty (1802-1945), the country’s last monarchy, as well as historically significant documents and photos are displayed at the “Nguyen dynasty woodblocks - World archive heritage” exhibit, part of the ongoing Da Lat Culture and Tourism Week, which runs until Dec 31.

The woodblocks displayed at the exhibit, going on at the National Archive Center 4, at 2 Yet Kieu, Da Lat City, reflect all aspects of the Vietnamese society in feudal times including geography, politics, legal system, army, culture, education, philosophy and literature.

The exhibit reveals the woodblocks’ origins, the painstaking making process along with how they were transported in the old days.

Visitors can also find out about Da Lat’s 120-year history through maps and a multitude of photos and documents on the resort city from its very first days.

The exhibit will be open to the public until Dec 31.

The 2013 Da Lat Culture and Tourism Week, which is running until Dec 31, boasts a host of fascinating activities including those to hail the 5th Flower Festival and celebrate the resort city’s 120th anniversary.
