Bikini dance raises eyebrows at Dam Sen Water Park in Saigon

Several mothers have expressed their regret at spending last weekend at Dam Sen Water Park with their husbands and children, after visitors bore witness to an unusual, semi-erotic performance by scantily-clad female dancers.

The suggestive dance, as seen in a video recently shared on Facebook, includes four young women wearing skimpy bikinis, performing suggestive dance movements in front of a crowd of spectators, many of whom were children, on a ‘water stage’ at the Ho Chi Minh City park.

At the height of the performance, the dance routine became highly suggestive, as dancers put themselves in positions most parents wouldn’t want their children to see.

Dam Sen Water Park is located in District 11.

Given the park is a popular place of recreation for children and families, the performance has been criticized for being highly inappropriate.

Nguyen Minh Thao, head of the water park’s sales department, admitted to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that the performance had taken place for around 30 minutes on Sunday.

However, he quickly added that the Sunday show was what he called an “experimental event” to test the new water stage featuring the fountains.

“We call it ‘Dancing in the water,’ which is intended to provide a new, exhilarating activity to serve visitors,” he said.

Thao said he had told the bikini-clad dancers to follow that spirit for the show and was surprised to see that “they had performed such suggestive moves at the end of their performance.”

The water park representative said the trial-run show was cancelled after it immediately sparked negative reactions on social media.

“We will not hold any more shows of this kind,” Thao said.

“We extend our apologies to visitors for failing to manage the situation.”
