A resident stumbled upon a cobra in the The Manor Central Park urban area in Hoang Mai District, Hanoi while the dweller was exercising on Monday night.
An official from the People’s Committee of Dai Kim Ward in the district, where the urban area is located, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that a 2-kilogram cobra did appear in the area.
After being notified of the sudden appearance of the venemous snake, security guards of the area caught the reptile.
The cobra is listed as a rare species, so local authorities are planning to release it into a suitable place to minimize danger for residents and protect the snake, said the official.
The Manor Central Park covers nearly 90 hectares, with some land plots remaining vacant, making it favorable for snakes to live.
