A retired English teacher in Ho Chi Minh City has decided to celebrate the 2018 Lunar New Year in his own special way by making over 50 dog figurines from eggshells.
Nguyen Thanh Tam is a retired English teacher and has been holding the record of having the highest number of eggshell figurines since 2010, a title recognized by the Vietkings.
Tam, 67, has created over 1,000 eggshell statuettes of the 12 zodiac animals, as well as other animals and cartoon characters to facilitate his lectures or just to fulfill his passion.

To celebrate the Year of the Dog, the man has made a collection of more than 50 dog figurines under various themes.
Each item took him from 60 minutes to up to 10 hours.
“The kind of art is affordable as eggshells are very easy to find. Making the statuettes helps boost my creativity and patience as well as relaxing my mind,” Tam elaborated.
